Plain-language summary of what we collect, how we use it, and what we share. Read before you read the footer — we wrote it short on purpose.

What we collect

When you use GoGarden, we may collect:

Email, if you submit it (e.g. “email me this estimate” or when you tell a pro you’re interested).
Project details you enter or trace: dimensions, materials, estimated cost, timeline.
Location data: ZIP code (if you provide it) and approximate city/region/country from your IP address.
IP address and basic browser info, so we can run the service and stop abuse.
Anonymous events: which calculators you used, when, and whether you clicked key buttons.
Advertising measurement data, unless you opt out: see Advertising & measurement below.

How we use it

To send your estimate if you ask for it.
To improve the service based on which features are used and where.
To connect you with a local pro — we share your project and contact details with a local pro so they can contact you about your project, only when you tell us you’re interested and only if we believe a pro can help. Never automatically.
To send you occasional updates — product news, new tools, and seasonal tips — but only if you checked the box to opt in, and you can unsubscribe from any email.
To measure our advertising — whether people who saw a GoGarden ad in ChatGPT went on to use the site. You can opt out any time.

What we share

We do not sell your data for money. Three narrow forms of sharing may happen:

In aggregate (e.g. “47 SF Bay users computed mulch projects this month”) — we may publish anonymized stats to show market demand to potential partners. No individual is identifiable.
Individually — your project details and contact information — with a local pro so they can contact you about your project, only when you tell us you’re interested and only if we believe a pro can help, never automatically. Pros are subject to terms restricting use to your project.
With OpenAI, for ad measurement — limited activity data from the advertising pixel described below. Under California law this can count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, which you can opt out of.

Advertising & measurement

We advertise GoGarden in ChatGPT. To see whether those ads work, our site runs OpenAI’s (ChatGPT) Ads measurement pixel — unless your browser sends Global Privacy Control or you opt out below, in which case it never loads. When it runs:

It sets two first-party cookies: __oppref (about 30 days), an ad-click reference taken from the link you arrived on, and __obref (about 12 months), a random reference for this browser.
It sends OpenAI event information when you view a page, request a quote, or complete or save a garden design: the type of event, the page address, those cookie references, and — as with any web request — your IP address and basic browser details.
Contact details only in hashed form. OpenAI’s pixel can automatically detect contact details you enter on our pages — such as an email address typed into a form — and include them only as a one-way SHA-256 hash, never in readable form, to help match ad conversions. We never send OpenAI your name, email, or phone number in readable form.
From our server, we may also tell OpenAI that a quote request happened (the event type, time, and page — not your contact details). We skip this if you’ve opted out.

OpenAI uses this to measure ad performance and match audiences on our behalf; see OpenAI’s privacy policy. Opting out stops the pixel and removes its cookies.

Your privacy choices

California residents (and anyone else) can opt out of sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Use the control below, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser — we honor it automatically as a valid opt-out and won’t load the advertising pixel.

What we won't do

We will not sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or list aggregators.
We will not share your contact info with a pro unless you've told us you’re interested.
We will not send you marketing emails unless you opted in — and every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe.
We will not load the advertising pixel if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or you’ve opted out.

Your rights

Opt out of advertising sharing any time, in Your privacy choices or with Global Privacy Control.
Unsubscribe or delete your data yourself, any time, on Manage your data — unsubscribe is instant; deletion is done within 30 days.

Pre-launch note

GoGarden is pre-launch. As the product evolves, this policy will too — we'll update the date below and call out major changes here. Cookies and trackers used today: first-party Supabase auth, Vercel Analytics (privacy-respecting; no personal-data cookies), and — unless you’ve opted out — the OpenAI Ads measurement pixel and its two cookies described above. If that changes, this page will say so.
