Data & sharing
Plain-language summary of what we collect, how we use it, and what we share. Read before you read the footer — we wrote it short on purpose.
What we collect
When you use GoGarden, we may collect:
- Email, if you submit it (e.g. “email me this estimate” or when you tell a pro you’re interested).
- Project details you enter or trace: dimensions, materials, estimated cost, timeline.
- Location data: ZIP code (if you provide it) and approximate city/region/country from your IP address.
- IP address and basic browser info, so we can run the service and stop abuse.
- Anonymous events: which calculators you used, when, and whether you clicked key buttons.
How we use it
- To send your estimate if you ask for it.
- To improve the service based on which features are used and where.
- To connect you with a local pro — we share your project and contact details with a local pro so they can contact you about your project, only when you tell us you’re interested and only if we believe a pro can help. Never automatically.
- To send you occasional updates — product news, new tools, and seasonal tips — but only if you checked the box to opt in, and you can unsubscribe from any email.
What we share
We do not sell your data. Two narrow forms of sharing may happen:
- In aggregate (e.g. “47 SF Bay users computed mulch projects this month”) — we may publish anonymized stats to show market demand to potential partners. No individual is identifiable.
- Individually — your project details and contact information — with a local pro so they can contact you about your project, only when you tell us you’re interested and only if we believe a pro can help, never automatically. Pros are subject to terms restricting use to your project.
What we won't do
- We will not sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or list aggregators.
- We will not share your contact info with a pro unless you've told us you’re interested.
- We will not send you marketing emails unless you opted in — and every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe.
Your rights
- Unsubscribe or delete your data yourself, any time, on Manage your data — unsubscribe is instant; deletion is done within 30 days.
- Request a copy of your data, or anything else — email hello@gogarden.studio.
Pre-launch note
GoGarden is pre-launch. As the product evolves, this policy will too — we'll update the date below and call out major changes here. Cookies and trackers used today are limited to first-party Supabase auth and Vercel Analytics (privacy-respecting; no personal-data cookies). If that changes, this page will say so.
